The NSPCC’s purpose is to end cruelty to children. Its vision is of a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. It runs around 180 services for children, young people and their families across the country. Two of the best known are the NSPCC Child Protection Helpline (0808 800 5000) and ChildLine (0800 1111).

In Cornwall, the Hayle Family Support Service provides a range of support services to children and their families. The Devon and Cornwall Young Witness Support Project supports young people giving evidence in criminal trials. Money raised through the We Wish project will help the NSPCC provide local services like these for children.

Because around 83 per cent of NSPCC funding comes from voluntary donations and fundraising, the NSPCC is heavily reliant on the generosity of the public to keep its services going.
